I hope you dance

I heard this song sung by Lee Ann Womack the other day (It's and older one, I know, but a good one). I have pasted the lyrics below for everyone to read and reflect.

I hope that my parenting (irrational at times) will at least achieve the success of raising two children with morals, self-confidence, perseverance, a love of their country, and a zest for life. I wish for them to have little anxiety (you know the old saying: "Don't sweat the small stuff." - which is so true) over daily issues. I have always wanted to be a wife and mother since I was young ~ no one ever said to me that it would be so hard. Your heart is so full for these little lives that you by God's graces brought into the world. You want to make sure nothing hurts them but yet you want them to grow and learn, which means sometimes they will need to be hurt. A catch 22. When my daughter was baptized, I actually went over to my own mother and apologized to her for everything I put her through, during my teen years (Let's be kind here, I was a wee bit difficult). I finally got it - I understood. My mom now has Alzheimer's and I'm so glad that I had that talk with her when I did, because now she doesn't get to participate in our lives.

I hope everyone reads the lyrics below and lives their lives to the fullest - don't let a minute pass you by!

I Hope You Dance ~ as sung by Lee Ann Womack

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder

You get your fill to eat

But always keep that hunger

May you never take one single breath for granted

God forbid love ever leave you empty handed

I hope you still feel small

When you stand by the ocean

Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens

Promise me you'll give fate a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance

I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance

Never settle for the path of least resistance

Living might mean taking chances

But they're worth taking

Lovin' might be a mistake

But it's worth making

Don't let some hell bent heart

Leave you bitter

When you come close to selling out

Reconsider

Give the heavens above

More than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance (Time is a wheel in constant motion always)

I hope you dance (Rolling us along)

I hope you dance (Tell me who)

I hope you dance (Wants to look back on their years and wonder) (Where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small

When you stand by the ocean

Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens

Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

Dance

I hope you dance

I hope you dance (Time is a wheel in constant motion always)

I hope you dance (Rolling us along)

I hope you dance (Tell me who) (Wants to look back on their years and wonder)

I hope you dance (Where those years have gone) (Tell me who)

I hope you dance (Wants to look back on their years and wonder) (Where those years have gone)
